Registered Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is considered one of the oldest healing arts, with its use documented in ancient Eastern Chinese cultures dating 3000 years ago. Modern massage techniques can be traced back to the 1700's with the development of the Swedish massage, the first systematic method of therapeutic massage based on physiology. This is the most practiced form of massage in Western culture. Massage therapy is the application of various techniques to manually manipulate the soft tissues and joints of the body, including connective tissue, tendons and ligaments. Its benefits have a therapeutic effect on the body and improve health and well-being by influencing the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems through both mechanical and reflex action.

Back massage

Massage therapy improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues. It increases flexibility and mobility, and helps clear lactic acid and other waste, which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints. As part of many physical rehabilitation programs, massage therapy has also proven beneficial for many chronic conditions ranging from back pain, arthritis and fatigue to high blood pressure, immunity suppression, depression and more. Massage also helps to relieve the stress and tension of everyday living that can lead to illness and disease. Our qualified massage therapists combine applied knowledge of physiology and anatomy with traditional techniques, exercises and therapies to provide comprehensive client treatment.
